Women's Health & Pregnancy
Women's Health refers to comprehensive women’s health care, as well as health issues that are unique to women, including:
- Pregnancy
- Menopause
- Conditions of the Female Organs
Be sure to get early and regular prenatal care to ensure you have a healthy pregnancy. You should also get recommended breast cancer, cervical cancer, and bone density screenings. Our goal is to ensure the health and readiness of all women at every stage of life.
Women’s Health Services
The Women's Health (OB/GYN) Clinic provides quality nursing care to women (adolescent to geriatric) throughout the childbearing and menopausal cycle. We provide preventive health care and healthy lifestyle maintenance in an organized, safe, and caring environment. We strive to teach our patients and their families positive health practices through an understanding of available community and facility resources. Our goal is to ensure the health and readiness of all women at every stage of life.
Care includes, but is not limited to:
- Walk-In Contraceptive Services (Active Duty)
- Birth Control Counseling
- Cancer screening
- Dysplasia treatment
- Infertility Workups
- Mammography Referrals
- OB/GYN preventive medicine
- Prenatal Care, with delivery at University of Nebraska Medical Center
- Patient/family education
- Patient/family OB/GYN concerns
- Postpartum Care
- Sexually Transmitted Infection screening and treatment
- Surgical consultation, with surgeries performed at Nebraska Medicine Bellevue or University of Nebraska Medical Center
Women with a positive home pregnancy test or who are more than five days late for their cycle can walk in to their PCM clinic for a pregnancy test Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 8 a.m.-noon, and Wednesday, 9:30 a.m.-noon. The PCM clinic will notify patients of their lab results. Active duty patients must notify public health within 24 hours of a positive result. At the time of notification, your team nurse will refer you to the OB Orientation class and order prenatal vitamins.
Obstetrics: OB Orientation – In-person group orientation classes are scheduled through the OB Class Coordinator. Classes are held every other Tuesday, 9-11 a.m., in the FMR classroom, located on the ground floor of the clinic.
Women’s Health services are also provided at the
Family Medicine Residency Clinic.
TRICARE Covered Services
TRICARE covers well-woman exams annually for women under age 65 with no cost-share or copayment. TRICARE offers coverage for many women’s health services, including:
