Health Services

Contraceptive Care 

All beneficiaries, regardless of gender identity, are eligible for contraceptive counseling and care. Services may be available through the OB/GYN Clinic, PCM or Public Health office. 

Active Duty Contraceptive Clinic 

The OB/GYN Clinic offers these walk-in services to Active Duty patients Thursdays 8-9 a.m., no appointment is necessary: 

  • Prescribing of Short-Acting Reversible Contraceptives (SARCs) such as: 
    • Oral Pills
    • Patches
    • Implants (i.e. Nexplanon)
    • Rings
    • Emergency Contraception (Plan B)
    • Depo-Provera Injections 
  • Consultation for Long-Acting Reversible Contraceptives (LARCs) such as: 
    • ​IUDs (Mirena, Kyleena, Paragard) 
    • ​Surgical Options 
  • Contraceptive Education 

    • Safe Sexual Practices 
    • ​STI prevention and treatment 
    • ​Menstrual Suppression
    • Non-Medical Family Planning 

Other Services 

Pregnancy Tests are available by walk-in to the Primary Care clinics Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m for patients who meet these criteria: 

  • Women ages 19 and older
  • ​Positive home pregnancy test OR more than 5 days late for menstrual cycle
  • No more than one walk-in pregnancy test within a seven-day timeframe
  • Tests are only for qualitative testing (positive or negative) 

Patients 18 and under or who do not meet the walk-in criteria should schedule an appointment with their PCM or message their team through the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal

All non-Active Duty patients seeking contraceptive counseling or prescriptions should schedule an appointment in their PCM clinic or in the OB/GYN clinic.  

Men requesting vasectomy counseling should schedule an appointment in their Primary Care clinic or send a message to their team through the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal. Vasectomy procedures are referred to and completed in the Family Medicine Residency Clinic.   

Patients requesting screening for Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) should send a message to their PCM team through the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal

The Public Health Clinic, located on the main floor of the clinic, offers STI counseling, education and resources to promote safe sexual practices. Free condoms are available at the front desk, courtesy of the Douglas County (Nebraska) Health Department.
